Hey Guys!
I’m sure all of you have heard the hype of the New Building finally opening! I am just as excited as you are! Last week, many of the offices packed their stuff in preparation. This is the reason why there were orange crates everywhere. I had to pack my office for Student Council and also, the Debate Society club room.
However, Student Council and the students clubs aren’t the only offices who are moving. Some of the other offices moving into the New Building includes:
- Academic Advisement
- Accessibility Services
- Career Services
- Counseling
- Health Services
- One Stop (Jay Express)
- Office of Student Life
- Testing and Evaluation
- Undergraduate Admissions
- Vice President, Enrollment Management
- Vice President, Student Affairs
Because of the move, these offices will also be closed from October 28th-November 2nd. In between these periods, if you guys need help from the Registrar or Financial Aid, you may go to room 1280 in North Hall for assistance. Also, the Bursar’s Office will stay opened in its current location on the 5th floor of the T-Building.
Here is a link from the John Jay website, with a message from President Travis regarding the major expansion to the John Jay Campus! Along with this message, there are link provided in which you can view a quick map of the new building, some of the offices that are moving, quick facts about the new building and so much more! The New Building Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held this Wednesday, November 2nd at 11:30 am! You can all watch it live online, or on television screens throughout the campus. I definitely wouldn’t recommend missing this moment!
On the day after the Opening Ceremony, on Thursday, Novemeber 3rd, there will be an open house held for the New Building. It will take place from 9:00-6:00 in the New Building Atrium! This is also a great opportunity for you all to check out the New Building and possibly find your classes ahead of time! From the outside, it looks BEAUTIFUL and I’m sure the inside is just as nice!!
Additionally, keep in mind that some of your classrooms that are currently held in North Hall, will be moving to the New Building starting November 7th! Here is the link some of you may check to see the room number in which your new classrooms will be held at the new building. http://johnjay.jjay.cuny.edu/nbdirectory/
Hope this post was helpful! See you all soon! =)
